A Daily Dose of God

10 Life Lessons We Can Learn from Blessed Father Louis Brisson  [modified by Dcn. George Kelly]

1. Appreciate life as a personal heartfelt relationship with God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit ….

2. God does not call the perfect, but perfects those who follow his call.

3. See all life as originating from the love of God as well as our own lives as springing forth from the love of our parents.

4. Balance faith and reason in all our undertakings. We need faith to remain optimistic and positive among all the difficulties of life. We need reason in order to fulfill our role as co-creators with God and to be good stewards of the earth.

5. Realize that nothing in this life lasts forever. This includes our accomplishments and our dreams.

6. Seek the constant presence of the Trinity in your life by practicing as many exercises from the Spiritual Directory as you are able, most especially the Thought on Rising, the Direction of Intention, the Preparation of the Day and the Examination of Conscience.

7. Take time to appreciate the value of all the people God has placed in your life.

8. Know that in the final analysis all things work out for the good of those who love God, despite examples of human weakness and sin found in the Church and in every human being and institution.

9. Value manual labor since our human bodily existence is graced by being created "in the image and likeness of God", and shares in the very same human nature as Christ who worked as a carpenter in Nazareth before beginning his ministry in his 30's.

10. Live your life totally aware of God's presence so that you can be full of confidence in God's love at the hour of your death.

Select one or more of Blessed Louis Brisson’s lessons and incorporate it (or them) into your life.  Your life will be better for doing that; may favorite is number 10.

May God Be Praised!

COVID 19 Pandemic Prayer

Hear my cry!  “Lord, listen to my prayer: turn your ear to my appeal.”  You are my refuge and my hope, I turn to you during this COVID 19 Pandemic and plead for Your intercession.  In Your mercy and Your compassion “… grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners, healing to the sick ….”

[Psalm 143 and Collect from Mass Time in Pandemic]

Provide strength to the first responders, compassion to the medical personnel, and wisdom to government leaders.  End this coronavirus scourge.  Send Your light to me as I wander in the darkness of this pandemic and give me hope in Your eternal love today and every day.  Amen.  [Dcn. George Kelly]
