A Daily Dose of God

Today’s topics are: Victory over the Self and Love of Neighbor and Victory Over the Self

1.    “Self-love, with its subtle, is ever persuading us that if we have no hand in it, all will not go well.  Are you giving your whole being to God and surrendering your self to his care?  Stay that way …. ‘We must begin again every day.’

2.    Remember “… to bear with your self in your weaknesses and powerlessness of will to do what is right …."

   Love of Neighbor

1.    “If you want to love others, you can start by not looking at their faults, but at their virtues and what is good in them….  Gently gear with them and pray for them….  Never open your heart to the belittling of your neighbor ….”

2.    Remember Our Lord said, “Love one another as I have loved you.”

Today spend a few minutes reflecting on yourself as a child of God called to shine God’s light and love in our world.

May God Be Praised!

COVID 19 Pandemic Prayer

Hear my cry!  “Lord, listen to my prayer: turn your ear to my appeal.”  You are my refuge and my hope, I turn to you during this COVID 19 Pandemic and plead for Your intercession.  In Your mercy and Your compassion “… grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners, healing to the sick ….”

[Psalm 143 and Collect from Mass Time in Pandemic]

Provide strength to the first responders, compassion to the medical personnel, and wisdom to government leaders.  End this coronavirus scourge.  Send Your light to me as I wander in the darkness of this pandemic and give me hope in Your eternal love today and every day.  Amen.  [Dcn. George Kelly]
