When you tell the story of your parents or grandparents to your children or grandchildren it is hard to capture their essence: their childhood, their sense of humor or lack thereof, their adult life, their success, and their failures.
In today’s Readings from the Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of John tries to share the story of Jesus, the essence of our Lord and Savior.
It is difficult for us and it was difficult for those who wrote the Stories of Jesus, Our Lord’s “things” in what we know as the Scriptures. Many of them, in fact most of them were martyred for telling Jesus’ Story. Telling the world that Jesus was the Messiah, true God, and true Man, so that we could come to hear, know and love the Lord. Jesus told Peter “…follow Me” He calls us to do the same.
Teilhard de Chardin said, “Nothing here below is profane for those who know how to see. On the contrary, everything is sacred.” As we live in the world today, may we see the world as sacred and when are time here is ended, we will enter the eternal Sacred Space of Heaven and we will “… gaze on Your face, O Lord.”
May God Be Praised.
