Whether you pray the Liturgy of the Hours or not below is a powerful prayer to start your day.
“I call on You, my God, for You will answer me; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer.” [Psalm 17:6] Lord, my God, Grant me the Courage to Listen to Your voice and follow You.
Open my heart to praise your holy name, cleanse me from any worthless thoughts. Grant me the wisdom needed to pray this Liturgy with reverence. Father hear my plea, satiety me with Your Love that I may shine forth Your Radiance to the world.
“Come, Holy Spirit, [Come] fill my heart. And kindle in me the fire of Your Divine love. Send forth Your Spirit and I shall be created. And You will renew the face of the earth.” Hear my cry! “Lord, listen to my prayer: turn your ear to my appeal.”
You are my refuge and my hope; I turn to You and beg for Your intercession. In Your mercy and Your compassion “… grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners, healing to the sick ….” [Psalm 143 and Collect from Mass Time in Pandemic]
