Prayer Can Occur in Many Forms

St. Francis de Sales wrote, "Prayer brings our mind into the brightness of divine light, and exposes our will to the warmth of divine love. Nothing else can so purge our mind from its ignorance, and our will from its depraved affections. It is a blessed fountain which, as it flows, revives our good desires and causes them to bring forth fruit, washes away the stains of infirmity from our soul, and calms the passions of our hearts."

[An Introduction to the Devout Life, p.61]

And St. Thomas a Kempis reflected on the Gospel of John Chapter 8:12, "No one who follows Me will ever walk in darkness.” These words of our Lord counsel all to walk in His footsteps. If you want to see clearly and avoid blindness of heart, it is His virtues you must imitate.

Make it your aim to meditate on the life of Jesus Christ. Christ's teachings surpasses that of all the Saints. But to find this spiritual nourishment you must seek to have the Spirit of Christ. It is because we lack this Spirit that so often we listen to the Gospel without really hearing it.

Those who fully understand Christ's words must labor to make their lives conform to His."  [Thomas á Kempis, Imitation of Christ, p.15]

Step one in leading a holy life is to seek a holy life, step two is to read the scriptures and get to know Christ and step three is to “Live Jesus” each day at every moment.

St. Joseph pray for us.

St. Andre Bessette intercede for us.

May God Be Praised!
