Perseverance is often
extolled as a virtue in worldly pursuits, e. g. Thomas Edison, Susan B.
Anthony, Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Jr, & many
others.
We are called to preserve in living our Christian vocation. This poignant story can aid us. After WW II workers were clearing debris from a bombed-out house [in Cologne, Germany] when they found this inscription on the cellar wall:
“I believe in the sun even when it is not shining.
I believe in love even when I do not feel it.
I believe in God even when He is silent.”
Sometimes our God is silent, reflect on why?
May God Be Praised.
