We are called to sustain our Faith in Joy and Hope nourished by the Bread of Life. Easter is a 50-day celebration; we are an Easter people and “Alleluia” is our song.
Really every Sunday is a “little Easter.” Our Faith is squarely based on Easter, and the Resurrection of Jesus in His glorified body.
Our reading from Acts points to the hardships the early Christians experienced. Their belief in the Resurrection helped them in their trials. The Eucharist sustained and strengthened them. In the Gospel Jesus tells us he “… is the Bread of Life.”
But today during this Jubilee Year of Hope and in our Easter Season of Hope, may we join in prayer, with the whole Church as the Cardinal-electors meet to select the successor to St. Peter [and Pope Francis] that the Holy Spirit fill them and guide them. May the Lord God increase our Trust in the Holy Spirit to guide them, us, and the Church.
