John’s Gospel gives us the beautiful and compelling image of the Vine & the Vine grower.
Think about today’s analogy this way:
1. The Son [Jesus] is the vine – He opens God’s love to us.
2. The Father is the vine grower – offering God’s love.
3. The Holy Spirit – leads us to God’s love.
Jesus gave us Holy Mother Church to nourish our faith with His presence, in particular the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Jesus, also, gave us the Sacrament of Reconciliation/Penance to prune our sins, and be able to love God more fully.
