Fr. Michael Murray, OSFS wrote, “One writer, paraphrasing/adapting the thought of St. Francis de Sales and St. Paul has a very interesting insight on the relationship between gratitude and trust in God.

Here is what he writes: ‘Grateful people are not envious; they are generous.
Grateful people are not arrogant; they are humble. Grateful people are not disdainful; they are amiable and affable.

Grateful people are not easily provoked; they are patient and peaceable. Grateful people do not rejoice over evil; they bask in the light of goodness. Grateful people do not complain in the face of difficulties; they remind themselves of how blessed they are.

Grateful people enjoy a deep sense of trust: trust in God, and trust in others, nourished by the hope to which they are called in the person and promise of Jesus Christ.’”

Today work at being a Grateful person, the world needs Grateful people now more than ever.

May God Be Praised!

Join me and cry out from the depths of your heart to the Lord who hears us.  “Lord, listen to my prayer: turn your ear to my appeal.” [Psalm 143]

God, You are our refuge and our hope, we turn to you during this COVID 19 pandemic and plead for Your intercession.  In Your mercy and Your compassion “… grant eternal rest to the dead, comfort to mourners, healing to the sick ….” [Collect from Mass Time in Pandemic]

Provide strength to the first responders and medical personnel, and wisdom to government leaders.  End this coronavirus scourge.  Bring Your light to all who wander in the darkness of this pandemic and give each of us hope in Your eternal love today and every day.  Amen.  [Dcn. George Kelly]
