Jesus sent the disciples on the boat and they preceded him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. Jesus then, went up on the mountain to pray.  When it was evening, he was there alone.  Meanwhile the boat, already a few miles offshore, was being tossed about by the waves, for the wind was against it.

During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. “It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear.

Similar to us as the COVID 19 Pandemic strikes fear in our world.  Jesus spoke to them, and He speaks to us, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.

But when he saw how [strong] the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”  Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  After they got into the boat, the wind died down.  Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying, “Truly, you are the Son of God.”

The COVID-19 Pandemic is the waves tossing us about, while Jesus calls us to follow Him.  We can use this pandemic time to be terrified or to give more of ourselves to The Way, The Truth and The Life. Truly Jesus is the Son of God allow Him to take hold of your hand and guide you through the COVID Storm.

C.S Lewis wrote, "As St. Paul points out, Christ never meant that we were to remain children in intelligence: on the contrary.  He told us to be not only ‘as harmless as doves’, but also ‘as wise as serpents’.  He wants a child’s heart, but a grown-up’s head. He wants us to be simple, single-minded, affectionate, and teachable, as good children are; but He also wants every bit of intelligence we have to be alert at its job, and in first-class fighting trim." [Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis, p.77]

Spend a few minutes walking toward Jesus on the sea of COVID 19, He is walking toward you with His hands outstretched.  You are called trust Jesus like a child in trust and walk toward Him as an adult in faith.

May God Be Praised!
