Disciples live God’s Word
We are called to follow God’s WORD, to make God’s WORD our
center. Spending some time each day
reading and praying God’s WORD, will prepare us to allow God’s grace to guide
us and mold.
Jesus challenges us to bring out God’s goodness in each person we meet, to help God’s goodness grow in that person, especially in our family. During WW II a remote mountain village in France participated in “A conspiracy of goodness.” The villagers saved more than 5,000 Jews from the Holocaust by helping them escape to Switzerland.
“An old villager (said), ‘We didn’t protect
Jews because we were moral or heroic people.
We helped them because it was the human thing to do.’” Their pastor … who led their work
said, “We did it because we wanted to be with Jesus.” (Connections,

Most of us will never face anything like that horror, but as
deSales reminds great occasions of serving God are few, little occasions are
many and frequent!
Maybe we can focus our efforts on Passing the Biscuits! Someone recently sent me this story, about a
young man, who said when he was a child growing up, his Mom would occasionally
make breakfast for dinner. One evening
after a particularly long, hard day at work, she did just that.
He remembered his Mom put eggs, sausage and a burned biscuit on
his Dad’s plate. He waited to see what
his Dad would do, his Dad took his biscuit smiled at my Mom and asked me how my
day was at school.
When your biscuit gets burned offer it up and ask everyone
around you how their day went.
May God be Praised!
