Prayer and the World Today
Paul Harvey said, “In times like these, it is helpful to remember that there have always been times like these.”

We need to pray today not more than ever, but we still need to pray.
Here are two insights on prayer from St. Francis de Sales that can help us.

His insight on our focus when we pray.
"If the heart wanders or is distracted, bring it back to the point quite gently and replace it tenderly in its Master's presence.
And even if you did nothing during the whole of your hour but bring your heart back and place it again in Our Lord's presence, though it went away every time you brought it back, your hour would be very well employed."

“Don’t lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset.”

I shared Reinhold Niebuhr’s version of the Serenity Prayer with Brain and Laurie, I wrote “Brian continue to TRUST in God who is leading you and carrying Laurie in her recovery.  While the path before you looks like foggy, the Holy Spirit is clearing your way and God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit will walk with Laurie and you during Phase 4.  Jesus wants you to know He is with you, Do not be afraid.”  Love Mom & Dad

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.  Amen

Father in heaven, hear our prayers.  Help us to know your will and to do it with love and care.

May God Be Blessed
