In His Sermon on the
Mount “… Jesus exhorts his
disciples to do what he has taught ….
First, Jesus employs the familiar
metaphor of the two ways to exhort his disciples to enter through the narrow
gate.
Second, he warns them of false prophets who appear like sheep but are really ravenous wolves…. Jesus returns to the theme of the two ways by contrasting two kinds of builders, one who is wise and one who is foolish….
He presents his teaching as the path of
life.” [The Sermon on the Mount, by
Frank Matera, p.107]
The Way that Jesus
teaches is known to us, love God and love our neighbor, if we follow His way
life is difficult, but joy-filled.
May God Be Praised!
