Blog Post 09-06-2025 Homily Cycle I Offered at OLPH [Salesian Saturday].
St. Paul reminds the Colossians & us to “… preserve in the faith.” In our Psalm we prayed, “O God, hear my prayer.”
Do you believe God’s hears your prayers?
Before we receive Holy Communion we pray what the Centurion prayed, “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter my roof but only say the word & my soul shall be healed.” Today reflect on our worth, remembering no one is worthy to receive the Eucharist, but despite our lack of worthiness Jesus invites us to the Banquet to receive His the body and blood.
St. Francis de Sales, taught that the Eucharist is the source of spiritual strength, and the foundation of faith. Frequent reception of the Eucharist transforms us to become more Christ-like and reminds us of Jesus’ ongoing love and presence. He wants us to participate for our sake, for our good.
“Behold, God is my helper.”
We are blessed because God invites us to be nourished on His bread and blood, Jesus Christ.
May God Be Praised.
