It is at once awesome and unimaginable to reflect on what the author of the Book of Sirach proclaims, that each one of us is “made in the image” of God.
And God offers us an “everlasting covenant,” created by God to be with God for all eternity.
Jesus in the Gospel says, “Let the children come to me ….”
And in our Psalm, we hear about a father having compassion for his children.
This story can help us discover that compassion can come in many ways.
A man asked his friend if he could ask him a personal question. You are a great Dad, and I know that your Dad had many problems, alcoholism, unemployment, divorce, etc.
How did you become a great Father. My Dad did have many problems that he dealt with, but despite them, every night he came into my room and knelt down and prayed with me.
God heard his prayers, and I became the father I am today.
May God Be Praised.
