Blog Post 12-12-2024 – Fears, Tears, Sorrows, Joys, Friendships

The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien offers us this insight on dealing with the difficulties we face:

Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened."

Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

The Scottish Custom of “The Parting Glass" was the final hospitality offered to a departing guest.

“Come fill to me the parting glass

Good night and joy be with you all

Good night and joy be with you all.”

Today we do not offer a parting glass, but we do offer our: fears, tears, sorrows, joys, and friendship until we are “in the land of the living” when every tear, fear, and sorrow will be wiped away and death will be no more.

May God Be Praised.
