Wednesday’s Wink from Above 09-24-2025

Today spend some time contemplating Jesus’ wounds reflecting on the idea that our failings on earth are wrapped in Jesus’ wounds and given to the Father for His forgiveness.

Remember to seek the Lord while you are here in “the land of the dying” so  you recognize Him the “the land of the living.”

Jesus prayed for us that we may all be one, as the Father is in Jesus and as Jesus is the Father. [John 17]

Blog Post 09-17-2025 Wednesday's Wink from Above - What Time Is It, Kairos?

“There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.”   St. Paul tells us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” St. Teresa of Avila advises us, "Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul."

God's time Kairos is about the opportunity to focus on fullness of meaning, that means putting God first in everything we do, say or plan. It is time, [Kairos], to put God first in everything we think, say, do or plan because God created us and loves us.

Remember your time is a gift from God use it for God’s Kairos.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 09-10-2025 "Wednesday's Wink from Above".

It is difficult to be quiet in mind and heart, yet God calls us to spend time in silence with Him. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” [Psalm 37: 7]

Do not worry about what is going on around you, seek the silence within you, for there God dwells, and don’t worry about staring over and over. One minute in silence each day will grow to the time of silence you need to deepen your friendship in and with God [Father, Son & Holy Spirit].

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 09-09-2025 The Last Daily Dose of God.

This is the final “Daily Dose of God”, tomorrow begins the blog “Wednesday’s Wink from Above”, I hope you will be spiritually feed by this weekly offering.

St. Paul in his letter to the Colossians reminded us “… the word of truth, the Gospel, … has come to you.” What do we do with the Gospel we received; the Gospel we profess to live.

Listen to this story, a new pastor gave a great sermon. The following Sunday he repeated the same sermon. He repeated the same sermon for three more Sundays, some people from the congregation went to him and requested to know why he kept offering them the same sermon week after week?

The pastor responded, “I plan to give the same sermon until I see you doing something about it.” Reflect on this “You will never cross the ocean by standing on the sand.” [Adopted from Action, Year C, Mark Link, S.J.]

Jesus prayed and acted; we are called to do likewise.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 09-08-2025 Living the Present Moment.

Living the Present Moment mean living with the real goal of this life in mind, but in union with Jesus Christ. We have the Sacraments to provide our spiritual nourishment, the Word of God, and Holy Mother Church to guides us.

Spiritual growth requires a commitment to a life of prayer one that focuses on weaving prayer into every facet of our existence. Prayer takes many forms and helps us remember why we are on earth not to accumulate earthy riches, but rather to build a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ who came to earth to show us the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Our world and our society place a veil or a curtain over the eyes of faith making it difficult to see and follow the road to fulfillment and happiness which reveals to us the great love of God.

The prophet Daniel teaches us "He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." [Daniel 2: 21, 22]

And St. Francis de Sales said, "What is the prize if it is not Jesus Christ? How can you take hold of him if you do not follow him?

Reflect on your life’s goals and check where your G.P.S. is taking you; maybe it is time to “recalculate.

Blog Post 09-07-2025 Insights on Life.

The great golfer Bobby Jones said, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to play the ball where it lies.”

Whatever happened in your life remember the Lord Jesus in walking with you. The philosopher Albert Camus said, “Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend”

Bobby Jones offers us a profound insight on life here on earth and Camus, although an atheist, provides us with a powerful spiritual insight, walk with Jesus beside and you will never walk alone.

Blog Post 09-06-2025 Homily Cycle I Offered at OLPH [Salesian Saturday].

Blog Post 09-06-2025 Homily Cycle I Offered at OLPH [Salesian Saturday].

St. Paul reminds the Colossians & us to “… preserve in the faith.” In our Psalm we prayed, “O God, hear my prayer.”

Do you believe God’s hears your prayers?

Before we receive Holy Communion we pray what the Centurion prayed,     Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter my roof but only say the word & my soul shall be healed.” Today reflect on our worth, remembering no one is worthy to receive the Eucharist, but despite our lack of worthiness Jesus invites us to the Banquet to receive His the body and blood.

St. Francis de Sales, taught that the Eucharist is the source of spiritual strength, and the foundation of faith. Frequent reception of the Eucharist transforms us to become more Christ-like and reminds us of Jesus’ ongoing love and presence. He wants us to participate for our sake, for our good.

“Behold, God is my helper.”

We are blessed because God invites us to be nourished on His bread and blood, Jesus Christ.
