Blog Post 04-22-2025 The Gifts of Reason & Faith

Pope St. John Paul II wrote, "Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth; and God has placed in the human heart a desire to know the truth in a word, to know himself so that, by knowing and loving God, men and women may also come to the fullness of truth about themselves."

 May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 04-21-2025 A Fast for All Seasons: Easter, Ordinary, Advent & Christmas Times.

We pray for our Holy Father Francis who went to meet his Lord and Savior, may he rest in peace.  May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in Peace.

Francis thank you for your service, your priesthood and your leadership.

Pope Francis’ offered us a list of fasting suggestions. As we celebrate Easter Season, [then the Ordinary, Advent, and Christmas Seasons] let each of us continue at least one Lenten Fast.

“Fast from hurting words and speak kind words.”

Our words can be damaging or uplifting to our souls, our characters, and those we interact with in our family, in our circle of friends and with those we encounter in the world.

May each word of kindness we offer and each word of hurt we refrain from speaking shine God’s Light a little brighter in our world and in our hearts.

Truly “A Fast for All Seasons.”

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 04/20/2025 EASTER SUNDAY

“He is Risen – ALLELUIA, ALLELUIA!”

“So many words ready to burst forth.

Words of poets.

Words of scientists.

Words of musicians.

Words of theologians.

Words of artists.

All waiting to be born.

Words eager to give birth to the one immortal idea of all ages.

And the only words that find life are so simple, so brief, so uncomplicated that many great minds have overlooked them: ‘He has risen!’ [Mark 16:6] The Word is risen.” (Stations of the Cross, by Rev. T. Ronald Haney, with Illustrations by Bro. Michael O’Neill McGrath, OSFS)

Today take some time to meditate on this awesome thought, “The Cross, the Tomb and the Resurrection of Christ are the source of all blessings, the gateway to all grace.”  [Deacon George Kelly]

* “Resurrection,” by Engelbert Mveng, S.J., in the Jesuit chapel at Hekima College in Nairobi, Kenya

May God Be Praised.
