Remembering 9/11/2001
Today we should take time to remember and reflect on the events of 9/11, for many they are seared into their hearts and minds, for others it is a time to learn about 9/11. Take time to search your heart for the pain and hurt you haven’t forgiven yet, especially those in our families. 9/11 taught us many lessons - - one of the most important is how fragile life is - - so today forgive in your families because tomorrow may be too late.
The Greek playwright Aeschylus wrote, “And even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget, falls drop by drop upon the heart, until in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful* grace of God.” [*awful in ancient Greek meant awe-inspiring or awesome]
“Wisdom through the awful grace of God” is a powerful insight into life itself. Today we should reflect on the “awful grace of God” assured that God’s Grace will guide our life here and will carry us to the Joy of God’s love in eternity.
