Book of Wisdom … suggests that our life is a mystery & that we do not
possess the key to understanding it. Our
task is to perceive the call of God and then to do his will. But in order to do
his will, we must ask ourselves, “What is God’s will in my life?” [Homily

“Receive” a prayer in the Spiritual Exercises: “Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Dispose of it wholly according to your will. Give me only your love and your grace, that is enough for me.”

As we live our Christian faith in the secular culture, take heart from today’s first reading from the prophet Baruch, “Fear not, my people …. Fear not, my children; call out to God! He who brought this upon you will remember you.”
Don’t fear the surrounding secular culture, why?
The answer lies in our Gospel reading from St. Luke, our names are written in heaven and Jesus prays for us, for you and for me.
So, what are we to do, live our faith like a child open and filled with joy. That’s today’s Gospel message, now we must live it; and since today is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, it would be a good day to pray the Luminous Mysteries which recall and emphasize the Christological character of the rosary.
