As Advent marches on read Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s on the
Light of Christ, Lucy and Linus’s insight into life. May your day be blessed!
“Life
is like a voyage on the sea of history, often dark and stormy, a voyage in
which we watch for the stars that indicate the route. The true stars
of our life are the people who have lived good lives. They are the lights of
hope.
Certainly, Jesus Christ is the true light, the sun that has risen above all the shadows of history. But to reach him we also need lights close by – people who shine with his light and so guide us along our way.”

We Can’t See What Is Before Us, We Are Never Content
“In a Peanuts comic strip Lucy is speaking with Linus at the base
of a hill. She says, "Someday I'm going over that hill and find the answer
to my dreams.... Someday I'm going over that hill and find hope and
fulfillment. I think, for me, all the answers to life lie beyond these clouds
and over the grassy slopes of that hill!"
Linus removes his thumb from his mouth, points toward the hill,
and responds: ‘Perhaps there's another little kid on the other side of that
hill who is looking this way and thinking that all the answers to life lie on
this side of the hill.’ Lucy looks at Linus, then turns toward the hill and
yells, ‘Forget it, kid!’"

Our Advent preparation should be about wonder, about life, about
love
and about being vulnerable to allowing God not only into our life
BUT be our life!
This Advent take a few minutes to thank God for those people who
have been a light for you.
For a few moments in silence think about what your Advent is all
about?
May God
Be Praised!
