St. Maximilian Kolbe said, "The most deadly poison of our time is indifference."  Maybe St. Matthew can provide us with an antidote for indifference?

St. Matthew’s asks us, Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asked for a loaf of bread?”   “Which one of you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish?”

Parents want the best for their children.  The more difficult question to grapple with and to answer is – what is best!  Are we talking about school, clothes, food, cell phone, computer, etc?

Those things are important BUT they are not the MOST important thing we can give our children.  Randy Pausch gained fame with his Last Lecture.  Professors are sometimes asked to consider their death and to share what matters most to them.

Think about what you want your children to learn from you, from your life.  More important than what you want them to learn, is what God’s wants them to learn from you.

What life lessons would you want to give them?  I suggest the most important gift you can give your children is witnessing your life of faith, that gift of a life of FAITH is the most important gift you can give them, a life that makes a difference.

Think about how you can give them that gift.

May God Be Praised!
