“The Catechism of the Catholic Church provides a comprehensive understanding of original sin, which is fundamental to understanding the fallen state of human nature inherited from Adam and Eve, the first humans created by God, the deprivation of original holiness and justice that affects all of humanity.
The consequences of original sin are profound introducing a tendency towards sin and a separation from God, which necessitates redemption. Through Baptism the Church teaches that we are turned back towards God and are empowered to combat the effects of original sin in their lives.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton offers us this insight, "We know certainly that our God calls us to a holy life. We know that he gives us every grace, every abundant grace; and though we are so weak of ourselves, this grace is able to carry us through every obstacle and difficulty."
Today seek God’s Grace through the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
May God Be Praised.
