Blog Post 05-27-2025 The Word of God

Pope Francis said, "Let us remember: the Word of God transforms an ordinary day into the today in which God speaks to us. So, let us pick up the Gospel and choose a small passage to read and re-read each day. Keep the Gospel in your pocket or in your bag, to read it on your travels, at any time, and to read it calmly.

In time, we will discover that these words are made especially for us, for our life. They will help us welcome each day with a better, more serene outlook because when the Gospel enters into today’s world, it fills it with God."

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 05-26-2025 The Gospel of John and Memorial Day

Be the best disciple of Jesus that you can be, then you will find peace and joy.

Today we remember and offer prayers with grateful hearts to those who gave their lives so that we can remain free.

Memorial Day is rooted in the Civil War. “… John A. Logan, a former Federal general, who called for the first formal day of remembrance on May 30, 1868. School children were asked to spread flower pedals upon the graves of the war dead. Since that time the day has been changed to the last Monday in May and the concept has been expanded to include a remembrance of America's war dead sustained in all Her conflicts.”  [Sermons.com]

This Memorial Day take some time to not only offer God your thanks, but to commit to being a peacemaker. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall inherit the earth.”

Our nation and our world need peace makers, please be one.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 05-25-2025 Two Ways - You Must Choose One

There are two ways we may take, “They are happy who, putting all their trust in the cross, have plunged into the water of life [second century author, Office of Readings, Easter Monday].”

That is the Way less traveled, many choose the well warned way of this world. Your choice will determine the Way of light or the way of darkness for your life, choose the light.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 05-23-2025 Bearers

Henri Nouwen wrote, “Who am I? Who are you? We are God's beloved ones, bearers of the divine image and human beings capable of glory and goodness as well as harm and alienation.”

Live as God's beloved today, and when tomorrow arrives, live as God's beloved.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 05-22-2025 Jesus True God and True Man

Bishop Barron wrote, “One and the same Christ only begotten Son, our Lord, acknowledged in two natures, without mingling, without change, indivisibly, undividedly, the distinction of the natures nowhere removed on account of the union, but rather the peculiarity of each nature being kept, and uniting in one person and substance, not divided or separated into two persons, but one and the same Son only begotten God Word, Lord Jesus Christ.” [Excerpt from And Now I See: A Theology of Transformation]

Jesus [True God and True Man] came to save us and show us the Way to Live as His Disciples.

May God Be Praised.
