Blog Post 2/07/2024 – An Insight into Joy.

An Insight into Joy.

“Joy is based on the spiritual knowledge that, while the world in which we live is shrouded in darkness, God has overcome the world. Jesus says it loudly and clearly: “In the world you will have troubles, but rejoice, I have overcome the world.”  [Henri Nouwen]

May God Be Praised and May God’s Joy permeate your life.

Blog Post 2/06/2024 – Are you waiting for anything or anyone?

In Psalm 33 we pray, “Our soul is waiting for the Lord.  The Lord is our help and our shield.  In him do our hearts find joy.  We trust in his holy name.  May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in you.”

Reflect on giving your heart, [i. e. your being] to the Lord, allow Him to feed you with His Eucharist.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 2/04/2024 – Do God’s Will and Find Joy.

“Remember to always do God’s will, it is perfect and fragrant at all times and in all places.”

If we always do God’s Will our burden is light, and our yoke is easy.

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 2/03/2024 - Homily Cycle II for Salesian Saturday

In our Responsorial Psalm we prayed, “With all my heart I seek You …Within my heart In treasure Your promise ….  Lord, teach me Your statutes.”  How deeply do we really seek with all our heart to learn and live the Lord’s statutes.

Solomon asked God for Wisdom – what have you asked God for?  Have you asked To Be the Lord’s servant?  Maybe that is the Wisdom we need?

The Lord is our Shepherd – today may we follow the Lord’s Will totally; And when tomorrow gets here it will be Today and may we again follow the Lord’s Will totally.

Solomon’s Wisdom is available to each one of us today, by becoming the Lord’s servant.

Blog Post 2/02/2024 – Do the Father’s Will

"What was the first rule of our dear Savior’s life? You know it was to do His Father’s will. Well, then, the first end I propose in our daily work is to do the will of God; secondly to do it in the manner He wills; and thirdly, to do it because it is His will."  St. Elizabeth Ann Seton

Whose Will do you follow?

May God Be Praised.

Blog Post 2/01/2024 - Why Pray - Answer – Shema (“hear”)

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Faithful friends work at their friendship, and God is the most faithful of friends.  Work at your friendship with the Lord your God.

May God Be Praised.
