Blog Post 4/08/2024 – Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord

Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord*

The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”

Pope Francis said, "Since it cannot be bought, in order for this salvation to enter into us we need a humble heart, a docile heart, an obedient heart like Mary’s. The model on this journey of salvation is God himself, his Son, who did not count equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied himself, and was obedient unto death, even death on a cross.”

Mary responded, “Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will.”  [Psalm 40]

Sit with the Blessed Mother, Mary most holy and thank her for her yes and join her in doing the Lord’s will.

May God Be Praised.

Moved this year because of Easter's date.
