Today we begin the O Antiphons, the O Antiphons refer to the seven antiphons that precede the Magnificat during Evening Prayer [Vespers] of the Liturgy of the Hours.
They are prayed during the Octave before Christmas, [December 17-23].
Here they are in the proper sequence:
´O Wisdom,
´O Lord,
´O Root of Jesse,
´O Key of David,
´O Rising Sun,
´O King of the Nations,
´and O Emmanuel [God is with us]
