Blog Post 3/12/2022 – Our Lenten Journey

Our Lenten Journey

St. Augustine wrote, "We are Christians, and strangers on earth. Let none of us be frightened; our native land is not in this world."  Tertullian said, "To love friends is the custom for all people, but to love enemies is customary only for Christians."

We as Christians are … called to love our enemies. Sadly, our culture exhibits increased hatred for one another and public discord. We are called to reject that "take no prisoners" mentality and instead to live the Gospel Christ preaches of total love of all. This week that may be difficult. [Adopted from the A.D. Times, 2/22/2022]

Our Lady of Perpetual Help, intercede for us.

St. Michael, ask God to help the people Ukraine.*

May God Be Praised and your day be Blessed.

And with St. Francis de Sales let us remember, "We shall steer safely through every storm, so long as our heart is right, our intention fervent, our courage steadfast, and our trust fixed on God."

    1. Lent is the gift of growth in the Lord, but also, trust in the Lord.
