Blog Post 9/07/2021 - Homily Cycle I Given on Salesian Saturday 9/04/2021 - Pride & Obedience

Sophocles the ancient Greek playwright said, “All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course & repairs the evil, the only sin is pride.”  Pride is not the only sin, but it is often the root of many of our sins.

Today’s scriptures:

1.    Call us to obedience to the law, that means to listen to the law & allow it to guide us.

2.    Preserve in faith.

3.    Hope in the Good News.

4.    Set our hearts & wills on obeying God.

5.    And to remember that the Latin word for obey means “to pay attention”.

Jesus reveals God’s love for us, He wants us to Listen to Him, and to Be Attentive to the Holy Spirit, to OBEY Him because then and only then will we fulfill our discipleship.

May God Be Praised and your day be blessed.

St. Joseph, pray for us.

St. Andre Bessette, intercede for us.

St. Francis de Sales, pray for us.

“Tune my spirit to the music of heaven.”  [St. Brendan the Navigator]
