A Daily Dose of God - The Active Contemplative

I just returned from a vacation week with my wife, our children, our grandchildren, my sister, and brother-in-law, one of my niece’s and one of my nephew’s and his children.  Some contemplation, some action, and a lot of fun with enjoying each other’s company.  Above is a photo of our grandchildren “all decked out”, they are a great blessing.

In the Scriptures we learned that Mary listened to Your words while Martha served your needs, help us to listen to You and to serve You with love.  You called us to listen and to act, to reflect and to do.  Mary was extolled because she embraced God and then guided by the Holy Spirit acted, Martha acted first.  Martha’s intentions were excellent, she wanted to follow God’s call, but she needed to sit with God first and listen to Him.

This week take some time to sit with the Lord, listen to Him, and then allow the Holy Spirit to guide your actions.  If you, do you will experience a taste of heaven while here on earth.

St. Joseph pray for us.

St. Francis de Sales pray for us.

May God Be Praised.
