Why Be Holy?

Jesus saved us over 2,000 years ago; our challenge is to allow His saving grace to mold us, to renew us, to form us and to redeem us.  St. Francis de Sales wrote, “Take courage, and turn troubles which you cannot remedy into material for progress and maturity.”

He, also, advises us, “Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself … God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.”

Mary / Martha responded differently to the Lord.  Don’t judge others rather look for the good in each person you meet.

Isaiah tells us “I [God] have called you by name. You are mine; I forbid you to be afraid. I am with you.” [Isaiah 43]

How can we pursue the holiness we have been called to seek, the prophet Micah teaches us, “With what gift shall I commit Yahweh’s presence?  This is what Yahweh asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God” [Micah 6: 6]

We do that by Living Jesus.  When we dress put on Jesus!  When we wash, wash in Jesus!  When we talk, talk Jesus!  When we smile, smile Jesus!  Whatever you do; do it for God.

At all times seek wisdom, remembering that Wisdom in the Celtic Tradition is knowledge of self, compassion for others and friendship with God. Friendship with God comes from Scripture, the Sacraments, especially the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, and quiet time with the Lord.

Allow The Eucharist to be the source and summit of your life and your faith.  Stay close to Jesus, do the best you can and let Him handle all the rest.

St. Joseph pray for us.

St. Andre Bessette intercede for us.

May God Be Praised!
