Hail Mary, Full of Grace

                                          Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception celebrates the Blessed Mother’s preservation from the effects of the “original sin” from the first instant of her conception.  Mary reminds us that the “Night will be no more, nor will they need the light of a lamp or the sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they shall reign forever.  They shall see him face to face and bear his name on their foreheads.  For the Lord God will be their light, and they shall reign forever.” [Revelation 22:5, 4]

St. Francis de Sales’ advises us to, “Observe God’s ways and not your own.”  Today reflect on how you can observe God’s ways, and whether you are planning for a houseguest named Jesus, Mary did, and the world was forever changed.

Take five minutes to listen to the “Ava Maria” sung by Andrea Bocelli: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwp1CH5R-w4&feature=emb_logo

May God Be Praised!

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in you mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.
