COVID 19 Pandemic Prayer
During our fight with the COVID 19 Pandemic good news
is scarce, today join me in offering a prayer of thanksgiving for Kellen David,
his Mom, Dad, brothers Declan, Deacon and sister Maren. “May the 4th be with them” and may
God’s blessing be upon them today and every day.

What is God calling us to be?
“BE HOLY BECAUSE HE
IS HOLY” [1 Peter 1:16]
How?
Pope
Francis in his letter - "Rejoice and Be Glad" [Gaudete et Exsultate] challenges
us to re-think the idea of being holy ….
“We are … tempted to
think that holiness is only for those who can withdraw from ordinary affairs to
spend much time in prayer. We are called
to be holy by living our lives with love and by bearing witness in everything we
do, Are you married? Be holy by loving and caring for your spouse,
as Christ does for the Church. [At your work, now often from home] Be holy by
laboring with integrity and skill in the service of your brothers and sisters. Are you a parent or
grandparent? Be holy by patiently
teaching the little ones how to follow Jesus. [Gaudete et Exsultate,
#14]
Our you
following the COVID 19 Pandemic Guidelines in your state and local
community? Please do and follow them
with joy because you are working to stop the pandemic, and help the world be a
better place.
Holiness
can be foster in our time by social solidarity in social distancing, by frequently
washing our hands, by spending some additional time in prayer with our savior,
unless you are parents at home with jobs to do, children to teach, meals to
prepare, parents to worry about, in that case use your daily chores as your
prayers.
Holiness
for you and for me is living each day as a disciple of Jesus. For a few moments, in silence, think about
how you can follow Good Shepherd’s voice.
May God Be Praised!
