“St. Benedict said the first degree of humility is to live constantly in the eyes of God.  Judgment is always looming over me.  That begins as a fearful thing, and turns my mind away from what other people think of me.  To that extent it is the first step in freedom ….” [In Praise of the Useless Life, p. 132]

The eyes of God’s Judgment want us to know God’s love, to live God’s love and to share God’s love.
We are called to that life.
